Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum greets nation through SMS

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, greeted the citizens and residents on the 41st National Day of the country over a SMS forwarded to most of the mobile phone subscribers on Saturday morning.
The SMS read: “Dear citizens and residents of the UAE, I am delighted to congratulate you and my brother Shaikh Khalifa, President of the UAE, as we all celebrate the 41st anniversary of the UAE. This is a day of joy and pride, in which we remember the inspiring journey  of our founding fathers and look ahead towards a bright future of endless possibilities.”
In similar words, he told Dirra Al Watan magazine that the UAE had succeeded because it’s a sole patriotic model made excellently in the UAE which had not emulated any earlier model.
Arab and world news websites quoted the SMS referring to it as ‘the first SMS sent by an Arab leader to his people’. Local telecommunication providers Etisalat and du sent Shaikh Mohammed’s message to all their subscribers’ cell phones. Reacting on the cordial message, Emirati citizens and residents in the country shared posts in Facebook and Twitter, deeming the message as an ‘invaluable’ gesture made by a leader to his people- a leader who bears in mind two goals; the nation and the people.
